On December 26, the fifth General Assembly of the Beijing Institute of International Law and the 2021 Academic Annual meeting were held in Beijing. The meeting elected the fifth Council member and the supervisor of the Board of Supervisors of the Beijing Institute of International Law. Professor Li Shouping, dean of the School of Law of Beijing Institute of International Law, was re-elected as the president of the Beijing Institute of International Law。

The conference was organized by the Beijing Institute of International Law, hosted by the Beijing Institute of Technology Law School, and co-organized by Zhonglun Wende Law Firm。The conference was held in a combination of online and offline, and experts and scholars from relevant government departments, universities and research institutes gathered together to conduct heated discussions around the theme of the conference "Serving foreign-related legal issues in Beijing"。Xiao Youmao, Secretary of the Party Group and full-time Vice president of Beijing Law Society, and Wei Mingshan, Assistant President of Beijing Institute of Technology, attended the meeting and delivered speeches。

Shen Qinmin, Director of the Second Department of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ma Yuchi, Director of the Legal Department of Foreign Economic Cooperation of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Ministry of Commerce, delivered keynote reports entitled "The Current International Situation and International Law" and "The Game of International Economic and Trade Rules" respectively。

The conference consists of three sub-forums。The first sub-forum was moderated by He Qisheng, Vice President of Beijing Society of International Law and Professor of Peking University Law School。Professor Bian Yongmin, Vice Dean of the School of Law, University of International Business and Economics, Professor Hong Yanqing of the School of Law, Beijing Institute of Technology, and Associate Professor Wu Xiaodan of the School of Law, Central University of Finance and Economics, delivered keynote speeches on "New Frontiers of International Law" respectively, and Professor Li Juqian of the School of International Law, China University of Political Science and Law made comments。

The second session of the forum was moderated by Huo Zhengxin, Vice President of Beijing Society of International Law and Professor of International Law School of China University of Political Science and Law。Prof. Liao Shiping from the Law School of Beijing Normal University, Prof. Li Qingming from the Institute of International Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Prof. Liu Yang from the Law School of Renmin University of China respectively delivered keynote speeches on the Construction and Implementation Mechanism of China's Anti-sanctions Legislation System，Fan Xiaobo, Professor of International Law School of China University of Political Science and Law and director of the Institute of International Economic Law, made comments。

The third sub-forum was moderated by Professor Han Liyu, Vice President of Beijing Society of International Law and Law School of Renmin University of China。Professor Tu Xinquan, Dean of the China Institute of WTO Studies, University of International Business and Economics, Professor Dai Long, International Law School, China University of Political Science and Law, and Associate Professor Ding Ru, International Law School, China University of Political Science and Law, delivered keynote speeches on "International Law Issues in the Construction of Beijing Pilot Free Trade Zone"，Beijing Foreign Studies University Law School Associate Professor Gu Bin made a review。
